Dr. Rachel Root is a licensed psychologist and certified perinatal mental health provider. She received her Master's Degree and PhD in Counseling Psychology at Northern Arizona University and trained in many settings across Arizona before settling in Idaho. She is certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International.
Her view of therapy is one that is client-driven and specifically suited to fit each individual's needs. Her therapeutic style is supportive, non-judgmental, and aids her clients in finding the solutions and answers that they are seeking. Her therapeutic style can assist individuals in navigating issues related to pregnancy and the postnatal period, help individuals overcome and manage anxieties in their lives, assist individuals in assessing the areas in their lives that need re-adjustment, and much more. Her specialty area of practice involves working with individuals and families in the perinatal period and helping them navigate the intricacies of the reproductive process, the transition to parenthood, and beyond. This often includes addressing the stresses of conception and pregnancy, birth trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and pregnancy and infant loss.
